Djokovic-less Serbs leads Swedes 2-0 in Davis Cup

Serbia can clinch a victory here on Saturday when its doubles tandem of Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic takes on a Swedish duo of Johan Brunstrom and Robert Lindstedt.

Djokovic, along with Serbian captain Bogdan Obradovic, decided that the reigning Australian Open, U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion should rest this week following the No. 1's most recent championship run in Melbourne.

The Serbia-Sweden winner will meet the Czech Republic-Italy victor in the quarterfinals in April.

Serbia captured the Davis Cup title two years ago, while Sweden, captained by Thomas Enqvist, owns seven championships, but none since 1998.

The Serbs defeated the Swedes, 4-1, in the quarterfinals last year.

It’s important to know how to forecast these unforeseen events and how to use them to your advantage. You can find ways to give yourself an edge by looking at past histories of teams and coaches and how they have fared in turnover wars in the past. Instead of turnovers hurting you at the wrong times, find ways to use them to your advantage.

As you can see, college football handicapping is very labor intensive and isn’t just based on where teams are ranked in the AP and coaches polls. Experience, coaching and match-ups are all important since unlike the NFL, college teams turn over much more often with new personnel at most positions every single year.
